Director: Bradley Cooper
Writers: Eric Roth, Bradley Cooper
Cinematography: Matthew Libatique
Production Design: Karen Murphy

In this new (and fourth) take on the iconic love story, four-time Oscar nominee Bradley Cooper (American Sniper, American Hustle, Silver Linings Playbook), makes his directorial debut, and also stars alongside multiple award-winning, Oscar-nominated music superstar Lady Gaga in her first leading role in a major motion picture.  Cooper portrays seasoned musician Jackson Maine, who discovers and falls in love with struggling artist Ally.  She has given up on her dream to become a successful singer, until she meets Jack, who immediately sees her natural talent.  In addition to playing Ally, Gaga performs original songs in the film with Cooper, which they wrote with a handful of artists, including Lukas Nelson, Jason Isbell and Mark Ronson. The music is original and all vocals for the movie were recorded live during filming.

A Star Is Born is such a great Hollywood myth that it’s no wonder Hollywood keeps telling it. Whatever the era, the director or the headliners, it relates the story of two lovers on dramatically differing paths: a famous man who’s furiously racing to the bottom (Bradley Cooper in this movie) and a woman (Lady Gaga) who’s soaring to the top. This latest and fourth version is a gorgeous heartbreaker (bring tissues). Like its finest antecedents, it wrings tears from its romance and thrills from a steadfast belief in old-fashioned, big-feeling cinema. ”  New York Times

“In his impressive directing debut, Bradley Cooper and the luminous Lady Gaga soar as they catapult the film high into a sphere of contrasts, where life’s extremes are on show. Electric, compelling and tender, the film is a knockout creatively and emotionally, offering a raw glimpse into today’s world of celebrity.”  Urban Cinefile

“Hugely enjoyable, shamelessly melodramatic and technically swish.”  Eye for Film
