Philip Comer
Chairman
Philip lives in the village of Bicknoller in Somerset, on the edge of the Quantock Hills, and not far from Crowcombe where he is the organiser for Crowcombe Cinema, a Moviola Associate. In the 1980s he helped set up a risk management consultancy, working originally with energy companies and subsequently in food safety and healthcare. Amongst other activities, he is a volunteer Ranger with the Quantocks AONB service and is the vice-Chairman of Friends of Quantock, a local conservation charity that acts as the public watchdog of the Quantock Hills.
Dr Brian Clay
Trustee & Director
Brian has been involved with Moviola since its origins in Dorset Film Touring in 2003 as part of his long term work with community cinema, as Regional Secretary of the South West Group of the British Federation of Film Societies, now known as Cinema for All. He was also Chair of Dorchester Film Society for 13 years before moving to Bristol where he was able to liaise on Moviola’s behalf with the film exhibition network through Film Hub South West, based in the city. He has recently moved back to Dorchester and has re-joined the Film Society Committee.
Helen Bradley
Trustee & Director
Helen is the Parish Development Officer for Hythe & Dibden. One of her earliest projects was working in partnership with Moviola to set up the cinema in Hythe, which has been operating for 15 years now. In her spare time, she is a music photographer and writes concert and CD reviews for a number of music publications.
Debbie Gent
Trustee & Director
Debbie has worked in film and television for over 30 years in various roles including production, post production and corporate. She lives in Amersham, Bucks with her dog, Polly; her son, Dom and her husband, Martin, with whom she co-owns a video production company. In her spare time she enjoys reading, walking, creativity and adventure.
John Buckley
Trustee & Director
A law graduate and chartered accountant, John spent most of his working life as a finance director in the confectionery and leather industries. He has also served as a non -executive director of the Buxton Festival, a regional theatre, as well as various NED roles in the NHS.
