Based on the international best selling book, this is the true feel good story of how James Bowen (Luke Treadaway), a busker and recovering drug addict, had his life transformed when he met a stray ginger cat (Bob).  In an interview in The Guardian, the real-life James says of his fight against heroin addiction: “It was Bob who gave me the determination to knuckle down and get over it. Using drugs is a selfish thing; Bob gave me something else to focus on.”

Also starring Joanne Froggatt and Ruta Gedmintas.

“It’s a cute picture — you’ll lose count of the cutaways to Bob’s face — but not a cynical one. Treadaway’s Bowen is easy to like, Froggatt’s Val is a warm presence and it is suffused with a generosity of spirit towards the dispossessed. Yet given the elements, A Street Cat Named Bob should really hit harder.”  Empire

In sum, this is a feelgood film whose feline star proves every bit as charming on the big screen as he is on the small one, and his fans will love it.”  Eye for Film

“Treadaway, an Oliver award-winner for The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, gives a raw, sensitive performance as the straggly-haired Bowen, while Downton Abbey‘s Joanne Froggatt is winningly sympathetic as his support worker.”  The Telegraph
