Anthony Hopkins stars as Burt Munro, a man who is something of a hero in his native New Zealand.  After a lifetime of perfecting his classic Indian motorcycle, 60-something Burt, undeterred by a heart condition, set off from the bottom of the world to test his bike at the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah and had a series of interesting encounters along the way.  Race officials could hardly believe their eyes when he turned up with his Heath-Robinson machine, but they didn't have the heart to turn him away.  With all the odds against him, he set a new speed record and captured the spirit of his times.  Burt Munro's 1967 world record remains unbroken and his legend lives on today.
