Just imagine... From the novel by Owen Sheers and starring Andrea Riseborough (Brighton Rock) and Michael Sheen (The Queen), it’s 1944, and Britain has been at war for 5 years. The D-Day landings have failed, Operation Sea Lion has succeeded, and a Nazi invasion lands… Soon half Britain is occupied. One morning the women of an isolated Welsh valley wake to find their husbands have disappeared. Praying for the best, they have to assume the men have joined the Resistance, and so they wait anxiously for news. Soon, a German patrol arrives on a classified mission. When a severe winter forces the two groups to cooperate, its thaw leaves them facing the consequences of their mutual dependency.
