"What if you had a second chance

        to find true love?"

Letters To Juliet is an enchanting love story - a tale of encountering new sparks and rekindling old flames.  Sophie (Amanda Seyfried, Mamma Mia!) arrives in Verona with her restaurateur fiancé Victor (Gael Garcia Bernal).  Preoccupied with business, he leaves her to amuse herself.  She visits the house allegedly inhabited by Shakespeare’s Juliet and learns that for years lovelorn women have been posting letters to Juliet, asking for advice in matters of the heart, and that a group of volunteers exists who reply to the letters.  [They really do; The Times reported on it a week or so ago.]   Sophie finds and answers a letter that has been lost for 50 years, and is stunned when its author Claire (Vanessa Redgrave) arrives in Italy with her handsome but overprotective grandson (Christopher Egan) to find the fiancé she left decades before. Fascinated by Claire's quest, Sophie joins them on an adventure through the beautiful hills of Tuscany searching for Claire's long lost Lorenzo. The journey will change their lives forever, as they discover it's never too late to find true love.

“The double romantic pay-off is beautifully directed and performed; it’s not just what but how it’s done in this satisfying escapist romance.”

Urban Cinefile

“Redgrave is incandescent, and casting Franco Nero as Lorenzo was inspired.  Nero and Redgrave had a son soon after they co-starred in 1967’s Camelot, but they didn’t marry until 2006.  Watching art imitate life provides a charm that can’t be faked.”  Rolling Stone

"Who can resist a happy ending and a love that spans the ages?  Especially when the lovers are played by real-life longtime couple Redgrave and Franco Nero?  There are worse ways to spend a couple of hours. Set in some stunning locales in Italy, Letters is a guilty pleasure that's lighter on the guilt and heavier on the pleasure."  USA Today
