Terrific Italian thriller that will have you on the edge of your seat.  The summer of 1978.  A small village in the spectacular landscape of southern Italy.  While playing outside one day, nine-year-old Michele discovers a boy chained to the ground at the bottom of a hole.  Michele is unsure whom he should tell about his discovery, eventually spilling the beans to his closest friend.  Michele's parents learn of his discovery and warn him to forget whatever he saw.  This is a great movie from an acclaimed Italian director, that mixes the simple joys of childhood with the horror of discovering that those you most trust may be involved in a terrible crime.  Amazing acting from the little boy hero, stunning photography.  A great cinema experience.
