Hugo (Asa Butterfield) is a 12 year old orphan living in a busy train station in 1930s Paris. Having learned the art of fixing clocks and other gadgets from his beloved, but sadly dearly departed father (Jude Law), he keeps the station clocks running. The only thing that he has left that connects him to his father is an automaton, but it won’t work without a special key, and Hugo needs to find it to unlock the secret he is certain it contains...
