Bon Voyage (12A) 114 minsSet during the fall of France in June 1940, this is a rollicking adventure yarn with a stellar cast and an engaging Hitchcockian flavour. If there is a hint of 'Allo 'Allo in the rather farcical intrigue, it's a small price to pay for such a well-crafted and spirited caper. At the start of World War II, the fate of the free world hangs in the balance at the posh Hotel Splendide in Bordeaux. Cabinet members, journalists, physicists, and spies of all persuasions gather in order to escape the Nazi occupation of Paris. High society socialites hobnob with jailbirds. Murderous intrigues, scientific secrets and love affairs flourish. Isabelle Adjani plays a French film actress pursued by a herd of adoring men, most prominent being Gerard Depardieu as the Interior Minister. They head an excellent cast in a sophisticated, funny and exciting new French film. www.sonyclassics.com/bonvoyage Screenings of this film are supported by South West Screen.
