The Board
The Board
Moviola
Ltd is governed
by a small Board whose members have the dual functions of Trustees of the
Charity and Directors of the Trading Company.
Board members are recruited from
the local community and from the film exhibition sector and serve in an entirely
voluntary capacity.
The Board currently comprises:
|

|
Dr Brian Clay
As a past Chairman
of Dorchester Film Society, Brian has been involved with film exhibition in
Dorset for over 30 years. These days, he lives in Bristol and has a wider
remit as the South West Secretary of the British Federation of Film
Societies; he also serves on the BFFS national executive. Film has always
played an important part in his life: he met his wife Mollie when they were
both members of Sheffield University Film Unit and they remain regular
film-goers. |
|
 |
Anthony Ewart - Treasurer
Tony is retired after working for
almost 20 years for J P Morgan and Chase Manhattan. He studied
genetics at the University of
Glasgow then worked in the pharmaceutical industry before moving to the
investment banks. |

|
Jonathan Stones
Jonathan is a retired solicitor living in Sherborne. He has been involved in a
number of charities over the years, and is currently a Director of the Almshouse
Association, and a Governor of The Marchant-Holliday School in Somerset.
|
Roy Webster
Roy is a retired academic and research scientist with a doctorate in pharmacology and no experience in media other than textbooks on the nervous system. He moved with his wife to Burley in the New Forest, where she is vicar, and set up Moviola there some three years ago. The monthly films have had such an impact on village life that he is keen to do what he can to support and expand the work of Moviola.
